Vita Lip Coconut Infused Lip Balm & Lip Scrub

Aside from the fact that this set was 50p at Superdrug, the pretty packaging drew me in. I love the holiday like vibes you get from this. Also, with this liquid lipstick trend ongoing, my lips are so very dry and were in need of a good scrub and balm.

I have tried so much when it comes to my lips: from Vaseline to an array of chapsticks. Nothing worked and in fact, they often even exacerbated the problem.

You use the scrub first and then apply the balm afterwards to give them that all important moisture. It claims it is 'enriched with finely granulated sugar to gently eliminate dry - chapped skin and blended with Grape Seed Oil & Organic Coconut Oil as well as Shea Butter'. Not bad for 50p eh?

So seeing this for 50p I was thrilled with it's pretty palm tree packaging and holiday vibes. I got home excited to try it out and honestly it is the only thing that has EVER cured my dry lips. It leaves them feeling so damn good!

I must admit I didn't have the highest of hopes for this product due to the low price but I'm so thrilled to say it exceeds my expectations. It really does work and anyone with dry lips I totally recommend giving this a whirl!

Overall rating for this product - 10/10

10 Unicorn Horn Makeup Brushes For Under £10

I'm sure you'll all be no stranger to the news of Unicorn Horn Makeup Brushes. Well, I recently came across these beauties for the small price of £8.69 as well as free P+P. £8.69 for TEN brushes!!!

Look how beautiful they are. The Rose Gold Ferrule compliments the opalescent horn handles so well. I also love the fresh white look of the actual brushes in comparison to rainbow ones I have been seeing.

These brushes not only ooze class but also work really well as makeup brushes. The quality of the brushes is beautiful and I literally couldn't fault them. The bristles feel luxurious and soft which is so hard to believe considering you're paying less than a pound per brush.

Hope I pleased some of you unicorn lovers out there! You can purchase them here.

Is This THE Best Budget Palette around?

So, a couple of days ago I purchased this Makeup Revolution palette. Well, I say purchased but really I got it for free for spending £12 on their products. Initially, I came in just to buy the palette as I had seen it earlier that day and decided I just had to have it and at £8 it was a steal. So, when I returned, to find out that if you spent £12 on MUR products you got a free palette I was ecstatic. This is the kinda thing a poor student with a beauty blog wants to hear.

Anyway, aesthetically for a budget palette I think this palette is stunning. I love the heart of highlight and the eyeshadows around it. The eyeshadow colours are so beautiful and vibrant, I'm really loving the reddish colour.

Makeup Revolution Haul

Yesterday I went in to Superdrug and saw a deal for a free palette from Make up Revolution if you spend £12. This is an absolute steal so of course I just HAD to.

I also thought I'd try a £1.50 eyeliner of theirs as I've ran out of mine and I thought I may as well for such a small price. I swatched liner on my hand and it looks like a really good deep black colour. I'm looking forward to trying it.

Struggle to find a matching lip liner for your liquid lipsticks? Me too. So, when I saw this set of lipstick and liner I just had to get it. As you can see by the swatches it's a gorgeous colour; something I wish I'd have had on Valentines!

I chose the 'love' palette to get for free which I'll be writing about in more detail tomorrow after I've tried it but WOW, how stunning is it? And for free?? I honestly think it's the prettiest budget palette I've ever seen! It's super pigmented and beautiful. I swatched all of the shades and that was only a light swatch! They're beautiful colours and I just love the heart of highlight, the highlight colour is so beautiful and filters light stunningly.

This contour stick is also stunning. The colour of it is enough for it to look natural and like your skin is just naturally glowing and vibrant.

All in all Makeup Revolution just keep on exceeding expectations. They may be a budget brand but this is certainly not reflected in their products.

What do you think of Makeup Revolution?

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Review

Today I wanted to review Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner. I know a lot of bloggers have this liner but I wanted to let you guys know a true review as to whether it's worth it.

This liners a little pricey at £16 as I was used to getting Rimmel's Glam Eyes for around a fiver which was a really decent eyeliner but I grew tired of using a brush tip. It was hard to get that really defined flick as it wasn't as stable as a pen like nib which is what Kat Von D's liner boasts.

I have THE oiliest eyelids and hooded lids too so I'm pretty much the worst person ever to buy eyeliner for. In the summer it transfers all over my face and I end up looking like a panda so I went on a quest to find a liner that was going to go on and STAY on.

I heard about Kat's tattoo liner and thought immediately it sounded great for me. Read some reviews and took the plunge. I have to admit it's the best liner I've ever used.

It goes on like a dream, glides across the lid easily and is super super black which is what I wanted. Its staying power is great too however I did find on a couple of the hottest days it did slightly transfer though I'm the hardest to cater for when it comes to eyeliner due to the oiliness and hooded lids so a couple of times was a miracle for me.

The only other problem I had with this liner was that when you apply it and want to touch it up, it can just start kinda playing up and not actually applying over itself if you do it once it has dried. This isn't a huge issue though as it very rarely happens.

Once it dries it does seem to be very tattoo like though I also noticed it can have a slight kind of frosted tint to it/kinda glazed which must be something to do with the tattoo like formula.

All in all, I think this liner is really good, it's easy to apply, got a very nice jet black look and has great staying power. Though, some downfalls are in certain lights it looks a tad glazed and also sometimes plays up with application and on very hot days I find it can transfer.

All in all I rate this liner a 8/10. It's the best liner I've tried.

Here's an example of the liner once applied.

What do you think of Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner? Have you ever tried it?

The Blogger Recognition Awards

So, to my absolute amazement, I was elected for the 'blogger recognition award' which is so overwhelming for me. I know it sounds stupid but I've never had any of this type of thing before and it means SO much. It means that I must be doing something right! I honestly couldn't be more happier with all of your support with my blog and I couldn't enjoy writing for you more! I've found my calling in life and this is definitely it; so brace yourselves as I'm going to be sticking around. Every comment, every follow, every read, every page view counts and means so so much to me.

The lovely blogger who nominated me is the lovely Shannon from Shanylou who has the loveliest little blog and you should TOTES check it out. She posts really great content and she's a flatlay goddess!

HOW MY BLOG STARTED

So I'm going to be so very honest. This blog began when really I should've been doing uni work and cramming in studies (sorry mum). However, my course wasn't all it was cracked up to be and I've found myself to have fallen behind. I've sat there thinking 'I'm not going anywhere, I don't know what to do with my life, I'm not going to succeed' and lay in bed moping feeling sorry for myself wishing my life had some direction. Then I thought about blogging, I've blogged once previously when I was really young, it was more for myself than anything and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing! But I remembered how much I loved it and I'd always meant to start it up again. I'm obsessed with fashion and beauty and I really needed the chance to express myself. So.. I started and suddenly I was eager to get out of the bed in the morning. My life feels like it has more direction.

TWO BITS OF ADVICE FOR NEW BLOGGERS

As a new blogger myself I've been through the start up process before. I've actually written a post offering ten tips for new bloggers here. However, my top two would be:

1. BE YOURSELF. Set yourself apart from everyone else. That's my biggest tip ever! Try and choose a template that tells us about you. That's what I did. I chose one that represented me, my favourite colour, hobbies etc. That way, you're more likely to be remembered.

2. Enjoy it. If you don't enjoy blogging then you'll get no where as it'll be reflected in your writing. Only take it up if it's something you're passionate about and love.

Valentines Day Make-up Idea - Red, Gold & Nude

I thought seeing as Valentines day was up and coming that I'd do a makeup look for you all. This is probably what I'll wear on Valentines day. I literally love experimenting with makeup and it's one of my fave things other than fashion!

For the lids I've done a red cut crease, in keeping with the luuuurve theme. I teamed it with gold glitter as what''s better than a bit of red and gold glitter for Valentines. I used Kat Von D's tattoo liner for my liner.

I made this look quite glowy and used a bit more blusher than I normally would as I feel it's appropriate for that Valentines vibe.

On my lips I used Kylie Jenners Dolce K topped with some Sally Hansen lip gloss. I'm not normally one to wear lip gloss but for Valentines it is SO appropriate. Glossy lips look great for kissing even though they'll probs end up all sticky ha! (NO innuendo itended.. gosh guys I know it's Valentines  but calm down).

I also added a cute lil heart as it's a Valentines day makeup idea so why the f not hey! haha

By the way, if you noticed the slightly singed wire then, yeah.. I nearly burned down my house taking these pictures! My fairy lights fell on to my candle. Luckily lights still functioning and no fire occurred, I caught it just in time haha! Shows what type of a person I am.. clumsy AF.

Did you like this makeup look?

How To Have a Fleeky Contour For £5

Do you want your face to be sculpted like a goddess? You need to get your hands on this sculpting contour stick from Makeup Revolution. It's IS a revolution. I have tried loads of different things to contour my face but this stick just works so well.

The fact that it's a stick makes it so easy to apply which is why I really really love this. I have the sleek contour palette and numerous other contouring contraptions but nothing lives up to this beautiful £5 wonder. I honestly couldn't recommend it enough. It goes on so well, stays on amazingly, looks great.

This was my potato face before I used the stick to contour my face. Round and potatoey in all it's glory.

Whereas afterwards, I look way more chiseled. It accentuates all your best features and slims your face right down. I love contouring it's literally the best thing ever and this stick just makes it so much easier!

Overall I rate this beautiful PERFECT stick 10/10. It couldn't be any better, it's affordable, long lasting and sends me from a potato to a chiseled goddess. What more could you want?

What do you use to contour your face? Do you contour at all?

Reviewing The Benefit Boiing Concealer

I purchased this concealer quite a while ago hence the fact it has hit the pan terribly ha! This means though, I have plenty of experience with this concealer and can review it for you well.

I suffer from spots and find it so annoying when you do your makeup and it looks fleeky but all you can see is a massive red spot on my chin. When your eye shadow and liner are on fleek you don't want a spot overshadowing this! I therefore had a look at some concealers and decided to get this one.

The consistency is really nice and thick meaning that when it goes on it is pretty industrial and heavy but doesn't look cakey. I hate it when you buy a concealer and it looks super cakey and draws even more attention to the spot!

My skin is really pale so I struggle to find concealers to suit my skin, this however is great and really suits my skin perfectly. The colour of it is '01' and on the packaging it actually claims that it is 'industrial strength concealer'.

Do I agree with this? In some ways yes, like I said it's nice and thick yet creamy and goes over spots well however in others I disagree. I just somehow wanted more from this product, sometimes it doesn't completely cover my spots though it's definitely the best concealer I have ever tried on my hunt for the best concealer!

It's kinda pricey but not too bad as it does go a long way. This has lasted me a long time!

The fact that it's in a pot is a bit annoying, I find it hard to get enough product on my brush. It's annoying trying to get it out of the pot and onto your skin.

All in all, I'd rate this concealer 6.5/10 as it is good, a nice thick yet creamy consistency and ok coverage however I don't quite think it lives up to the 'industrial strength' claims as sometimes my pesky spots still show through.

An Affordable Glitter Liner To Add Some Sparkle To Your Valentines

So this glitter liner is the BEST glitter liner I have and it was only £3! It's a rather obscure brand - Technic. This liner is seriously amazing and comes out top so perhaps they're one to watch. It's affordable and super glittery and easy to use.

I have Urban Decay glitter liners and they simply do not compare to how much glitter you get with one single swipe of this stuff and they're heaps more expensive! This liner is a definite steal and one that could really spruce up your Valentines look. I look a good gold smokey eye with some gold glitter liner added. It really transforms a makeup look and I'm a huge lover of anything glittery. I think gold goes hand in hand with reds for Valentines and would look super cute whether you're spending it with the girls or your other half.

If you wanna grab this liner you can find it in Bodycare stores!

Overall I rate this liner 10/10 as it's great value for money and looks stunning.
